Instructors and Artists in residence
Clayspace has three artists in residence working in the studio and teaching classes and workshops. They are talented & creative and they provide clayspace students with excellent instruction and a high level of technical expertise. Each artist has a fine arts degree in ceramics from OSU and teaching experience. Clayspace artists are friendly and helpful, their distinctive artistic styles are reflected in some of the work being done in class.

Todd HickersonTodd has been teaching classes and workshops at classes since June 2007, when he graduated from OSU with a BFA in ceramics.
"The inspiration that influences my work is comprised of three main concepts or ideals: my passion for and fascination with the Polynesian culture, the experiences I gained during the 18 months I spent in Afghanistan and the Middle East serving the U.S. Army in the "War on Terror" and the knowledge I obtained during my four month scholastic study in China. Traveling around the globe has fully impacted my life, my art, the way I think and how I view the world."
Todd teaches beginning and intermediate potter's wheel and a slab building class and is available for private lessons and workshop instruction upon request.
